Counselling for Adults

My Approach

Every client is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to suit you as an individual.

Integrative counselling means there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach. I draw on a range of therapeutic models, including person-centred therapy, psychodynamic approaches and cognitive behavioural techniques, allowing us to work in a way that feels most helpful and relevant to your needs.

At the heart of my work is a person-centred core, meaning I will work alongside you with empathy, honesty and acceptance, offering a space where you feel valued and understood. Where appropriate, we may also explore how past experiences influence the present, or look at practical strategies to support change in your day-to-day life.

What Counselling Can Offer

Counselling can support you in improving your sense of wellbeing, reducing distress, and developing ways to cope with the challenges you may be facing.

Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, helping you to gain clarity, build self-awareness and make decisions that feel right for you.

Areas I Can Support With

People come to counselling for many different reasons. Some of the areas I have supported clients with include:

  • Anxiety

  • Low mood and depression

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma

  • Relationships

  • Self-esteem

  • Stress

  • Life changes

Whatever you bring will be unique to you, and you will be met with respect, care and understanding.

Sessions

Sessions last 50 minutes and can be offered on a short-term or longer-term basis, depending on your individual needs. Some people may come for a set number of sessions to focus on a specific issue, while others may choose to work more openly over a longer period of time.

We can discuss what feels right for you and review this as we go, allowing the work to remain flexible and responsive to your needs.

Getting Started

If you are unsure whether counselling is right for you, you are welcome to get in touch to talk things through. Taking that first step can feel difficult, but it may also be the beginning of meaningful change.
