Counselling for Children, Young People and Adults in Buckinghamshire & Online
Emma Spacek
PNCPS (Acc) Dip. Counsellor & Supervisor
I am a professionally accredited (PNCPS), qualified integrative counsellor, working alongside my private practice I am a Clinical and Services Director of a counselling charity, Within the charity, I oversee the delivery of therapeutic services and support the development of both qualified counsellors and those in training. I am also the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, ethically and with care at the centre.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a police officer. During this time, I witnessed first-hand the challenges people can face in their lives, from trauma and crisis through to significant life changes. These experiences have stayed with me and continue to shape how I work, enabling me to remain calm, grounded and compassionate, even when things feel overwhelming.
I have also worked as a Lead Counsellor within a secondary school, supporting young people as they navigate emotional, social and developmental challenges, and working alongside staff to ensure the right support is in place around them.
Alongside my private practice, I work on behalf of organisations such as Onebright and Macmillan Cancer Support, providing counselling to individuals living with or affected by cancer, as well as those accessing support through Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs).
Supporting people affected by cancer has deepened my understanding of just how much can change in a short space of time. From the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond, it can bring uncertainty, fear, grief and a shift in how people see themselves and their lives. It can also impact relationships, family dynamics and a sense of control. I offer a space where these experiences can be spoken about openly, at your own pace, without judgemen, whether you are living with a diagnosis or supporting someone close to you.
At the heart of my work is the belief that being truly heard and understood can be a powerful starting point for change.
I am committed to ongoing professional development and maintaining high ethical standards. Being professionally accredited reflects my experience, competence and commitment to working safely and ethically at all times.
My approach is warm, relational and grounded in creating a space where you can feel safe enough to explore what is happening for you — whatever that may be.
