Counselling for Children and Young People
(Aged 5–18)

Children and young people come to counselling for many different reasons. They may be struggling with emotions such as anger, sadness or anxiety, coping with loss, finding friendships difficult, or simply feeling that something isn’t quite right and wanting to feel better.
I offer counselling for children and young people aged 5–18 in a warm, safe and supportive environment. I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, which underpins my specialist approach to working with this age group.
Sessions can be creative, using play, art and other expressive approaches to help children explore their thoughts and feelings in a way that feels natural and engaging. Where appropriate, and with carer consent, I can also offer elements of outdoor work, providing a flexible and responsive approach to each young person’s needs.
Safeguarding is central to my practice. I work within clear ethical and professional frameworks to ensure that every child feels safe, supported and appropriately contained throughout the counselling process.
Counselling provides a space where your child, or the young person you care for, can begin to understand themselves and develop ways to manage what they are going through. The aim is to gently support them in making sense of their experiences and building coping strategies that feel right for them.
